Bio

Marc is a multi-award-winning Welsh artist whose emotionally charged figurative work has earned him international acclaim. With a career spanning over three decades, he has carved a distinctive niche for himself in producing uncompromising emotionally charged figurative work

His art challenges and captivates in equal measure. Through his portrait drawings, Marc explores the delicate balance between vulnerability and self-protection, capturing fleeting glimpses of human fragility beneath the facades we wear. His use of self-portraiture is raw, honest, and deeply personal—offering viewers an invitation to look beyond the surface and ask, “What’s his story?” Emotion is always at the core of his work.

Marc’s technique combines finely detailed focus with loose, gestural sweeps and rapid mark-making. This dynamic interplay, along with his precise and evocative use of lighting, creates an atmosphere that heightens the emotional impact of each piece.

Raised in an industrial town in South Wales, Marc draws on his roots to inform a visual language that resonates across cultures. His collectors span the globe, including respected art critic Anthony J. Lester. He is an invited member of the Bath Society of Artists (BSA) and an Associate Member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA).

Marc’s recent solo exhibition was held at the Red Sheep Gallery in Stockholm, Sweden (2023). He has also exhibited in Florida and is currently showing work in Vienna, continuing to expand his international presence.
