Bio

(b.1988, London) Alanna Eakin is a British painter whose work explores nature, memory, and escapism through lush colour and dreamlike landscapes. A graduate of Central Saint Martins (BA Fine Art, 2010), she lives and works in London, and has exhibited in galleries and art fairs across the UK. Her paintings exist somewhere between imagination and experience—layered compositions that combine figuration, abstraction, and geometry. Saturated hues, ethereal light, and expressive mark-making are central to her language. These are places not quite real, yet deeply familiar. Drawing inspiration from everyday life, distant travels, and moments from childhood, Alanna constructs imagined scenes where fairytale, memory, and emotion intertwine. Her process is intuitive yet deliberate: initial gestures are loose and abstract, informed by the unpredictable behaviour of paint. From there, colour and composition are built in careful layers—often landing far from where they began. The result is a distinct visual world: bold yet tender, playful yet poignant. A kind of painted reverie that invites the viewer to step in and stay a while.
