In 2018 I won the Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize.
‘Revolution’ depicts a woman curled within a round canvas. An ancient symbol of infinity, the circle creates a womb-like frame which contains her foetal position, whilst the fact she is an adult leads to an image depicting the cycle of life. There is a precarious nature to her contorted pose, as if at any moment she could roll unbalanced, tumble, unfurl: a reflection on the transience of existence.
This piece is being exhibited in our Well Hung Painting Prize exhibition. We will dispatch all online orders after the exhibition closes on 22 August.
