Sara Gregory’s work explores the emotional landscape of women’s inner lives—often quiet, ambiguous, and intense. Through portraiture and symbolic figurative painting, she aims to reveal what is felt but rarely spoken. Sara often works with self-portraiture and solitary female figures, inviting the viewer to reflect on their own experiences, memories and emotions.
The painting ‘Woman’ calls for a shift in perspective when looking at a ‘Woman of A Certain Age’. Instead of softening or disguising age, it asks us to recognise and celebrate the experience, resilience, wisdom, and strength that older women embody. Age is not something to be apologised for, but a testament to a life lived. The simple word Woman is a statement, here I am unapologetically myself, no other labels needed.
