Tianxi is an emerging artist based in London working across painting, printmaking and collage. Her practice explores fleeting, intimate moments where emotion quietly surfaces. Drawing from personal memories and lived experience, she examines human relationships, unspoken tensions and tenderness through figurative imagery and carefully composed spaces. Her works function as paused scenes, using colour, gesture and atmosphere to invite reflection, ambiguity and personal connection.
“The Last Night” captures two figures sharing a quiet meal on the edge of departure. The food sits forgotten as silence fills the space between them, heavier than conversation. Through loose yet weighty brushstrokes, the painting holds a fragile moment suspended in time, where tenderness and sadness coexist, suggesting a farewell that may arrive tomorrow, or perhaps has already begun.
This piece is being exhibited in our Well Hung Painting Prize exhibition. We will dispatch all online orders after the exhibition closes on 22 August.
