Sarah Hobson is a London-based artist whose work explores the figure through a lens of spontaneity, memory, and personal connection. Working primarily in paint and mixed media, her portraits and figurative compositions are expressive and intuitive—capturing not just physical presence, but emotional resonance. Her background in textiles and art direction informs her sensitivity to surface, colour, and form. Figures often emerge from loose, gestural marks—sometimes tender, sometimes raw—evoking a sense of fleeting moments or remembered gestures. There is a quiet immediacy in her work: a feeling of people caught mid-thought, half-seen or half-remembered. Sarah studied Textile Design at Central Saint Martins and worked as an art director before focusing on her painting practice full time. She lives and works in London.
