From the urban edgelands of Hackney Marsh to the vastness of the Lake District there is a thread tying ancestry and place in my paintings. I work intuitively with oil, acrylic, and marble dust giving materials permission to flow freely creating tension and anticipation. Process leads, one gestural mark informing the next exploring texture, surface and colour. The painting sits in that liminal space between thoughts, memory and imagination challenging the viewers perceptions of the natural world.
This piece is being exhibited in our Well Hung Painting Prize exhibition. We will dispatch all online orders after the exhibition closes on 22 August.
